Responsibility:
- Stay informed about issues and developments related to the ships owned by our Japanese clients, and provide feedback to line managers on the concerns and expectations of the owners.
- Effectively engage in discussions with ship owners regarding technical challenges and concerns.
- Demonstrate expertise and a thorough understanding of vessel audits and inspections.
- Oversee business development activities within designated markets, ensuring alignment with the company's commercial and business strategies.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, industry influencers, and potential clients to fully understand their future needs and expectations.
- Evaluate shifts in the company's commercial strategy within your area of responsibility and work to develop and implement new initiatives accordingly.
- Attend relevant industry events and seminars to stay informed about client strategies, goals, and objectives.
- Identify and generate new business leads and opportunities, securing them in line with the company's business and commercial plans.
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree, diploma, or equivalent in marine engineering, navigation, or a globally recognized qualification in shipping.
- Chief Engineer qualification certificate.
- At least two years of relevant onshore experience.
- Proven business acumen and the ability to manage ship owners expectations.
- Strong analytical, relationship-building, leadership, and communication skills (both written and verbal, including presentation skills).
- Preferred knowledge of Classification Society policies and procedures.
- Strong technical understanding of customer needs and expectations, along with expertise in conducting and managing market research and product analysis.
- Prior experience in people management.
- Proficiency in IT and computer skills.
- Experience managing sales cycles.
- A proven track record of securing high-value contracts across various sectors, including bulk carriers or tankers.
