The Job
The Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance to end users. They are expected to carry out repair and service duties for our mobile and crawler crane divisions. The Engineer is also responsible for carrying out technical repairs, crane functioning test, inspection of cranes, spare part recommendation, and perform new or used crane training and commissioning.
What You Can Expect of the Job
- You’ll diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul mobile crane and crawler cranes.
- You’ll conduct new or used crane training and commissioning.
- You’ll conduct crane inspections, prepare inspection reports and recommended new replacement parts.
- You’ll conduct crane erection training for mobile telescopic and crawler crane types.
- You’ll apply electrical, electronically, hydraulically and mechanical theory and related crane knowledge to rectify crane faults.
- You’ll perform remote diagnostics in real time using crane error codes that provided by customer.
- You’ll perform crane fault diagnostics using Liebherr Service Software (i.e. Sculi, LIDIA etc )
- You’ll test mechanical and electrical products and crane equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications.
- You’ll dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- You’ll clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on Liebherr telescopic mobile or crawler cranes.
- Any other additional duties as assigned.
What We Expect of You
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the crane industry.
- Possesses basic hydraulic and electrical knowledge.
- Ability to work in heavy machinery environment, under chassis or work at height.
- Possess valid Singapore Class 3 driving license as you will be required to drive to job sites.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative to visualize, organize, manage and complete projects in individual and group settings.
- A team player and ability to interact with all levels internally and externally.
- Meticulous and self-motivated (especially in stressful situations).
- As you will be on site to service cranes, physical demands, e.g. lifting & carrying wire ropes, reaching, climbing ladders & stairways, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and significant finger dexterity are necessary.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and may require working beyond office hours if situation dictates.
- Willingness and ability to travel overseas for servicing and repairing works on short notice.
