The Role:
Avolon is appointing a Transaction Associate to our Singapore office. This person will work under the direction of a Head of Transaction Legal APAC while at Avolon for the purpose of executing tasks and responsibilities listed below.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assisting and supporting the transaction lawyers in project managing transactions through documentation phase to contract signature and closing.
- Actively participating in and managing transaction closings, including document execution processes and completion of all relevant conditions precedent..
- Ensuring that all documentation is completed to meet deadlines and in accordance with Avolon standards and guidelines
- Assisting with the preparation of ancillary documentation, such as lease amendments and side letters (based on our house templates/precedent documents), conditions precedent and corporate approvals.
- Liaising where necessary with airlines, banks, aircraft buyers and sellers, manufacturers, and maintenance providers.
- Co-ordinating and managing input from technical, credit, finance, and commercial departments in due diligence processes in aircraft trading transactions.
- Appointing and liaising with external legal counsel in all relevant jurisdictions.
- Liaising with corporate service providers in various jurisdictions to establish and manage special purpose companies.
- General administrative support, where required (e.g., collation of signature pages, arranging board meetings, preparing transaction bibles, saving down documents, updating internal reports, and coordinating billing arrangements with service providers).

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Relevant degree/studies or equivalent experience.
- At least three (3) years’ experience working in aircraft leasing in a legal or commercial background.
- Experience in drafting and/or reviewing legal documents (preferable).
- Highly motivated self-starter who brings original thought, challenge and innovation to solving problems.
- Direct, effective, and engaging communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong and independent minded with the ability to express your views with conviction, showing bravery in confronting established thought.
- Driven, focused, resourceful and self-motivated with an ability to think independently and work to proactively identify solutions to issues as they arise.
