Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgy Technician. In this role, your primary responsibility is to perform routine, metallurgical, mechanical, failure, corrosion testing facilitating metallurgy operations at site or at a laboratory.
This role is based in Tuas location.
Job Duties:
- Perform routine mechanical testing (tensile, bend, charpy impact, hardness) including CTOD and metallurgical testing (micro / macro examinations) Involvement in site / field testing
- Coordinating with the technicians in the team to carry out work as per the planning schedule and assist with hazard identification and risk assessment exercises within their areas of responsibility
- Conduct either or combination of testing, analysis, calibration, monitoring, sampling and collection and sample preparation as directed
- Carry out routine laboratory tests, analysis, machining or preparation in line with authorized technical competence
- Carry out daily sample collection and ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
Job Description:
- Possess a minimum of Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline, with 2-4 years of relevant working experience
- Good knowledge on international standards and codes
- Possess driving licence
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated team playing with excellent organisational and communication skills
