Duties & Responsibilities
Cost Estimation:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) projects.
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and associated costs.
Quantity Take-off:
- Perform quantity take-offs for materials and labor required for MEP installations.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate quantity assessments.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor and report on cost variations, recommending cost-saving measures.
Tendering and Procurement:
- Assist in preparing tender documents and participate in the procurement process.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
Contract Administration:
- Administer contracts related to MEP works, including managing variations and claims.
- Ensure contractual compliance and resolve disputes during the project.
Value Engineering:
- Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to implement recommendations.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and contract issues.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
Cost Reporting:
- Generate regular cost reports to inform stakeholders of project financial status.
- Provide analysis and recommendations based on reporting data.
Collaboration:
- Work with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings to contribute to overall project success.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in MEP construction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices.
Ad-Hoc Duties:
- Conduct cost analysis for repair and maintenance projects.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Head of Department (HOD).
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in industrial, commercial, or data center projects.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems.
- Skills:Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Adaptable and flexible in approach.
Strong communication and facilitation abilities.
Ability to work well in teams and independently, demonstrating initiative and commitment.
