What are we offering?
As our new Resident Landscape Architect you will be part of our team, based in the main contractors site office for an exciting, one-of-a-kind project located in the North/North-East of Singapore. From water sensitive urban design masterplans, concert halls and university buildings, public parks, biodiversity enhancement and restoration nature parks, headquarters, and sustainable housing, you will be a part of an organization with a creative culture and history of delivering award-winning architecture.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
(1) Field Works
· To assist and support the Landscape Architect and other consultants in all respects in relation to Construction Works.
· To assist and conduct site inspections as directed by S.O./ S.O. Representative (architect of record).
· To provide daily monitoring and records of landscape works progress.
· To supervise and inspect landscape works in relation to construction quality as per the landscape design intent. Landscape works include tree protection and removal, grading works, installation of outdoor hardscape finishes, site furnishings and details, ABC waters design, adventure elements and softscape works.
· To inspect and review the quantity and quality of procured plant materials, including regular inspections during pre-growing period in the Contractor's nursery prior to site installation.
· To review site implementation of all softscape related works in accordance to the quality specification standards including planting arrangement, installation and planting maintenance.
· To inspect and review the various tests related to landscape works (e.g. soil mix, irrigation system testing and commissioning etc.)
· To review setting out of all landscape works.
· To undertake other relevant duties as delegated by S.O./S.O. Representative.
(2) Project Administration
· To be responsible to update and archive all project correspondences, documents and information.
· To Assist the Consultant and QS on the assessment of plant quantity and quality for progress payments.
· To attend daily toolbox meetings, site walks, Contractor's technical, progress meetings, working sessions and other meetings when required by S.O./ S.O. Representative.
· To assist S.O./ S.O. Representative to ensure all site progress reports and inspection records are consolidated and filed in the standards as approved by the Employer.
· To supervise, administer, settle disputes, certify and/or to otherwise act in accordance to the terms of any contract entered into and/or concluded between Employer and the Contractors.
· To advise the Employer, and if requested by the Employer in writing (I.e., formal letters, electronic mails), to represent the Employer in negotiations and conferences/meetings with the Contractors and/or any of the consultants to maintain control of their performance in relation to the project.
· To control, supervise and co-ordinate the Contractor's services and works related to landscape, and ensure that each is fully and properly instructed and executed in accordance to contract documents.
· To review the progress claim issued by the contractor based on the progress of the landscape works on site.
· To review and report on the progress of landscape rectification works as per defect list or as instructed by S.O./ S.O. Representative
· To compile and generate defect list for landscape works
What are we looking for?
For this role, we believe your starting point is:
Diploma/Degree in Landscape Architecture
· Minimum 2-5 years of landscape architectural practice
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and other commonly used software applications
· Minimum 2 years of site implementation experience, including water sensitive urban designs or certified ABC Waters projects will be of advantage
