Job Summary
The role holder is required to support Head, payroll group processes in delivering the payroll agenda, managing risk and governance, vendor contract management (includes both payroll and international mobility contracts), facilitating changes across payroll processes.
Strategy
Ensure upkeep of payroll strategy and contribute to the overall delivery of payroll agenda enabling improved solutions and reduce overall risk. This includes:
- Collaborating with different teams including country stakeholders, payroll operations, payroll squad, risk, and compliance teams in delivering payroll solutions and improve efficiencies.
- Ensuring payroll processes are compliant to risk and compliance standards of the bank and escalating gaps when identified.
- Manage outsourcing arrangements including vendor governance vendor and contracts for both payroll and international mobility.
- Participating in Bank-wide HR projects having downstream payroll impact, such as changes to, data centre changes and other parts of the overall HR change agenda.
Key Responsibilities
Processes
Improving overall payroll operations quality and efficiency. This includes:
- Working closely with country HR specialist delivery teams, payroll operations, technology payroll squad and payroll vendors to improve payroll quality and efficiency.
- Monitoring internal and external governance, performance trends through business reviews and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Working with relevant teams in problem solving and escalating critical issues to senior management.
- Identifying processes requiring alignment & centralising into hubs or group payroll
Risk Management and Governance
Manage Operational Risk and governance within payroll process. This includes:
- Work with Group Operational Risk, Risk specialist, Legal and Compliance teams to facilitate the following:
- Upkeep of valid contracts and approved risk assessments for external both payroll and international mobility vendors.
- Addressing issues highlighted from risk/compliance reviews and strengthening controls within the payroll process.
- Effective supplier/vendor management wherein all thematic risks and issues, key highlights and challenges are tabled for appropriate discussion and remediation.
- Ongoing review and refresh of control designs in line with bank’s framework.
- Managing internal and external audits

Our Ideal Candidate
- Degree and professional qualification (e.g. human resources, accountancy, tax, legal)
- 5+ years of proven track record in own area of specialism
- Experience working in an international reward function is highly advantageous, including delivery of core HR products and process such as payroll and benefits
- Experience in project management of large, complex, cross-geography projects
- Focus on high standards, quality and high attention to detail
- Ability to multitask & problem solve within a complex structure and deliver business outcomes
- Excellent communication: clear oral and written skills
- Highly analytical and numerate
