Contract Period: 1 Jan 2025 to 31 Dec 2025 with an option to extend the Contract for a further period of one year
Working hours:
· Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 2:30pm, inclusive of ½ hr lunch break
· Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, school holiday and Home based Learning days.
Scope of Services:
1. Counselling Work: Provide individual and group counselling to students being referred including:
· Conducting face-to-face counselling.
· Collaborating with teachers, Case Management Team and School Leaders regarding students being counselled.
· Working with families of students being counselled.
· Conducting home visits with other school personnel) where necessary.
· Referring students and families to community resources for specialised assistance where necessary.
· Providing regular updates/feedback (frequency of updates to be determined by school) to school administration/management and teachers concerned on the work done/cases with the students counselled.
· Providing support such as conducting relevant groupwork/workshops/activities for students and parents with educational needs
· Providing consultation to school administration and teachers on nonreferral cases and other counselling related matters.
2. Counselling-related Activities: Expansion of duties include:
· Documentation of cases and all counselling work done.
· End-of-Year Summary Report would be placed in Student’s Confidential File.
· All case notes are to be kept in school.
· Recording of cases and sharing with relevant teachers.
· Conduct training related to social and emotional development of students for teachers and parents.
· Reach out to students and parents to build rapport and create understanding of counselling services (eg talks in class etc).
· Monthly summary report of cases to be submitted to the Reporting Officer and School Leaders.
Qualification, Skill & Experience:
· A Master’s Degree in counselling with relevant professional counselling training.
· High level of professionalism and a strong work ethic.
· Have experience in working with youths and their families in counselling.
· Strong assessment skills with the ability to advocate for the best interest of the child.
· A team-player who has strong communication and interpersonal skills and can adapt to different working styles to achieve common goals. Is organized, meticulous and able to manage complexity.
