- Lead the selection, testing, and evaluation of materials used in gas turbine components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Oversee engineering projects related to materials, including planning, execution, and monitoring using Oracle project management tools.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to address material-related challenges and optimize processes.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements for materials used in gas turbines.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Utilize Oracle systems for tracking material performance metrics, project status, and reporting findings to stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of material specifications, test results, and compliance records.
- Detect non-conformance (overage, shortage, damage and wrong supply) and raise Service Request via e-tools (Service Now) as required.
- Verify completeness of supply for Special Tools for Compressors (CeCo) and Turbines (LM2500) against BOM and Contract.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in materials engineering, mandatory in gas turbine industries.
- Strong understanding of materials properties, failure analysis, and testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in using Oracle software for project management and data analysis.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on material performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Experience with advanced materials, such as superalloys and composites, used in high-temperature applications.
- Knowledge of gas turbine design and operational principles.
- Experience with industry standards and certifications related to materials (e.g., AS9100, ASTM).
- Arabic speaking candidates are required to communicate effectively with counterparts who are based in Middle East (who do not speak English)
