Position Overview:
As an Early Childhood Educator at Dreamkids Kindergarten, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing young children's development, fostering a love of learning, and supporting their holistic growth. You will create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that emphasises character-building, problem-solving, and curiosity-driven learning, in line with Dreamkids' unique philosophy of "先做人,后做事" (Character Before Academics). You will collaborate with families and colleagues to provide high-quality education based on learning theories, research, and proven educational frameworks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Implement Curriculum: Develop and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on Dreamkids’ philosophy and curriculum frameworks (e.g., NEL Framework). Lessons should incorporate various domains such as language and literacy, numeracy, arts, social-emotional development, and character education.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel respected and valued. Implement positive guidance strategies to promote pro-social behaviour.
  • Child Development Monitoring: Observe, assess, and document children’s progress regularly, and adjust teaching strategies to meet each child's needs.
  • Collaboration with Families: Communicate with parents/guardians regularly to provide child's progress, address concerns, and offer guidance on early childhood development and parenting strategies.
  • Innovative Learning Activities: Develop creative and meaningful activities, incorporating hands-on experiences, play-based learning, and problem-solving projects to inspire curiosity and foster critical thinking.
  • Character and Values Education: Promote character building through daily interactions and structured lessons, embedding values such as empathy, resilience, and gratitude into the children’s daily learning experience.
  • Professional Development: Stay current on early childhood education trends and engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills, attending workshops and trainings as needed.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work effectively as part of a collaborative team, supporting colleagues and contributing to the overall success of the school’s programs.


Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • A valid LON


Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in early childhood education settings.
  • Experience in delivering curriculum in line with Singapore’s NEL Framework is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with character-building education, growth mindset, and social-emotional development in children.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of child development principles and practices.
  • Excellent classroom management skills with a focus on positive discipline and pro-social behavior.
  • Creativity and innovation in designing engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and document children's progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
  • A growth mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to new teaching methodologies.
