Role Description:
We are looking for a passionate and creative STEAM-Based Afterschool Care Educator to join our dynamic team. If you’re dedicated to empowering young minds and creating a positive learning environment that goes beyond the classroom, we’d love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities:
Create a Positive and Supportive Learning Environment:
Build a safe space where children develop good learning habits and support them in the fundamentals for academic excellence. Use positive reinforcement and growth-oriented feedback to help students develop confidence and resilience.
Encourage Active Learning:
Engage students in hands-on problem-solving, interactive learning, and group-based projects that promote active participation and collaboration.
Set Clear Boundaries and Expectations:
While being kind and empathetic, set and maintain boundaries to ensure a structured and respectful learning environment. Use firm but fair approaches to classroom management.
Ensure Student Safety and Well-Being:
Supervise children during after-school care hours, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment. Address any social or emotional needs that arise with empathy and care.
Collaborate with Fellow Educators:
Work closely with other educators and team members to continuously improve programs, share teaching strategies, and create cohesive learning experiences for students.
Qualifications:
Relevant diploma or degree in Education, Child Psychology or related field
Prior experience in education related field preferred
Knowledge of child development and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and team members.
A growth mindset and commitment to positive psychology principles in education.
Ability to create engaging, hands-on activities that promote active learning and curiosity.
Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain clear boundaries while fostering a supportive environment.
Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to experiment with new ideas and teaching methods.
Undergraduates, freelance educators are welcomed.
