Job Responsibilities
Your key roles are as follows:
- Inspect and Diagnose Issues: Perform detailed inspections to identify mechanical issues related to the vehicle's mid-life upgrade components, such as braking systems, propulsion systems, and structural elements.
- Component Overhaul: Assist in the disassembly, overhaul, and reassembly of key mechanical components like doors, suspensions, and HVAC systems as part of the upgrade process.
- Installation of Upgraded Parts: Install upgraded mechanical parts and ensure correct alignment, proper fitment, and compliance with technical specifications.
- Support Detrainment Door Upgrades: Contribute to the replacement and functional testing of detrainment doors to ensure reliability for the next 15 years, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent failures during the upgrade process, following OEM recommendations and project-specific guidelines.
- Testing and Commissioning: Assist in testing upgraded systems and components, verifying operational functionality under load and ensuring they meet performance criteria.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all work completed, including parts used, tasks performed, and any identified issues.
- Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure all mechanical aspects of the upgrade align with the overall project goals and timelines.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE while working on vehicles and mechanical systems, particularly during high-risk tasks such as lifting heavy components.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Quickly address mechanical issues that arise during the upgrade process, providing solutions to minimize project delays.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on the latest upgrade procedures and technical requirements, sharing knowledge with other team members and apprentices as needed.
- Use of Specialized Tools: Operate specialized tools and diagnostic equipment necessary for mechanical work during the upgrade, ensuring all tools are properly maintained
