Business Analyst / Project Engineer

You will be part of the project team responsible for coordinating projects from initiation through completion. Your role will involve planning, organizing, requirements gathering, and implementation of projects to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.


With the introduction of cloud services in the local transit system in the next few years, you will get to understand how the existing AFC system shall evolve and be streamline to be cloud native, and have many opportunities to put in place requirements to fulfil more and evolving user needs.


You will work with various stakeholders from within and outside the organization to deliberate on and rationalize through the business and operational needs, to ensure project deliverables offered to transit stakeholders are feasibly and sustainably implemented. You will fit well into this job if you are a people person who likes to interact, think and write systematically, and able to communicate clearly to explain the requirements to different target groups.


Job Responsibilities

- Requirements Analysis: Elicit and analyze business and operational requirements; assess technical feasibility and business impact with cross-functional teams.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Plan and coordinate discussions to conceptualize, elaborate, and confirm project requirements with stakeholders.

- Procurement Coordination: Oversee procurement activities, including sourcing equipment and subcontractors; evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery.

- Project Planning: Develop project plans and schedules; manage project budgets to ensure alignment with financial constraints.

- Budget Monitoring: Track project expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement control measures to maintain budget integrity.

- Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts and reports; ensure all correspondence is properly archived and tracked. Provide regular updates to stakeholders and management.

- Client Relations and Satisfaction: Act as the primary contact for clients, addressing inquiries and managing expectations. Propose and maintain a process for obtaining customer satisfaction surveys to gather feedback and enhance service delivery.

- Clear Communication: Explain requirements clearly through regular correspondence, walkthroughs, and presentations.

- Contract Management: Write, evaluate, negotiate, and execute various contracts for new and existing projects.

- Correspondence Maintenance: Ensure all project-related correspondence and documentation are accurate, up to date, and properly archived.



Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Infomation Systems, Conmputer Science, or a related field.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CAPM, PMP) are a plus.


Experience Requirements:

1-2 years of experience in project management or related fields.

Familiarity with managing project tasks and assisting in client relations.


Skills and Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.

Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation and reports.

Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello) is a plus.

Basic knowledge of procurement processes and contract negotiation is desirable.

Quick to learn and keep up with technology; savviness with e-payment technologies or relevant experience in automatic fare collection/account-based ticketing is an advantage.

Familiarity with customer satisfaction measurement and feedback processes is a plus.
