Quality Control Senior Associate

The Technical Function is our team of enabling experts offering knowledge and partnership to functions on specialist subjects including engineering, quality and productivity. They ensure operations and food safety excellence for our team. Could you bring a new dimension to our technical expertise? If so we could take your talents to a whole new level.

This role requires supporting Quality Control requirements for finished goods as part of the QC team. Specific responsibilities can be expected to rotate between the finished goods and raw materials laboratories.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily laboratory planning, prioritization and analysis of in-process and / or finished product samples in accordance to documented testing methodology.
  • Provide accurate and timely disposition of Flavour Raw Materials and Finished Concentrates in accordance with the Company's accept/reject criteria.
  • Ensure all instrumentation used in the testing of products are validated and calibrated to standard.
  • Ensure all laboratory records are kept in accordance with the Company's protocol.
  • Compile and report relevant KPI's monthly to Lab supervisor. Implement quality initiatives and quality strategic initiatives appropriate to level.
  • Responsible for blocking and communicating any batches rejected or placed on-hold to operations and raise relevant Trackwise record for follow-up.
  • Complete quality activities in the introduction of new product. Trouble shoot issues and carry out bench scale investigations where required.
  • Analyse the data/trend and challenge non-value-added activities to streamline the Lab operations.
  • Adhere to PepsiCo Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ad hoc duties or projects as assigned by Lab supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or Equivalent.
  • Computer literate
  • At least 3 years work experience in a relevant field.
  • System and operational knowledge - SAP, LIMS systems and Gas Chromatography, HPLC operational and troubleshooting experience is an added advantage.
  • An understanding of GMP/GLP and other key manufacturing processes
  • Ability to planning, manage priorities and deliver results to meet internal customer requirements.
  • Experience in building excellent working relationships with operations team members
  • Good Communication Skills across all levels in an organization.
  • Good Attention to detail
  • Self-starter, proactive in delivering results and a good organizer
  • Strong Team Player

Kindly note that this role will require AM & PM shift work. AM shift timing is 7.30am to 4pm & PM shift timing is 3.30pm to 12 midnight. Transport will be provided.
