Job Description
The IT Category & Sourcing Manager at Central Procurement Office is responsible for managing IT category buy and maximize the value of the spend. The IT Category & Sourcing Manager must be able to plan, lead, execute, track and manage sourcing for different IT sub-categories including but not limited to Server & Storage, Network & Cabling, IT security, IT Application Services, Website Management Services.
- Plan, lead, execute, track and manage the sourcing for IT category buy while working with NUS IT technical experts
- Build in-depth technical knowledge of the IT sub-categories on the job. Proactively monitor relevant markets and anticipate market fluctuations by monitoring price and market trends
- Review monthly spends, savings and compliance reports and lead effort to manage supplier performance and qualification
- Incorporate key performance indicators such as price, delivery, quality, policy compliance and supplier performance in all IT category sourcing
- Manage supplier relationships and resolve supplier issues as well as being proactive in management of supplier risks. Foster supplier development and innovation by building strategic partnerships with key suppliers
- Negotiate contract/supply agreements to secure the best price for the best quality of goods, services and contractual terms
- Utilise data analytics to provide insights into IT category performance and opportunities for optimisation
- Conduct regular supplier review for performance and sustainability key indicators
Requirements
- A recognized University degree
- Minimum 5 years working experience in IT infrastructure and/or Application development areas
- Able to write IT technical specification and involved in the procurement process
- Prior experience with government procurement processes is a bonus
- Possess project management, problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Proficient in desktop applications such as Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken English for drafting tender specifications and facilitating effective communication
