Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems integral to the construction and operation of a large-scale waste management facility. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in both mechanical and electrical engineering principles, with a focus on optimizing efficiency, safety, and sustainability within waste management operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design robust electrical systems that support mechanical equipment and processes used within the facility. Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and sustainability goals.
- Installation and Integration: Supervise the installation of electrical systems, ensuring proper integration with mechanical equipment. This includes overseeing contractors, managing timelines, and troubleshooting issues during implementation.
- Maintenance and Upkeep: Implement preventive maintenance strategies for electrical systems to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment. Ensure systems are regularly inspected, calibrated, and optimized for peak performance.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Respond to system failures and technical issues, diagnosing problems quickly and effectively. Coordinate necessary repairs and adjustments to maintain operational efficiency.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all electrical systems comply with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Perform regular safety audits and risk assessments to mitigate hazards.
- Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with other engineers, facility managers, and external contractors to coordinate project phases, budgets, and deadlines. Provide detailed reports on system performance, project progress, and compliance with operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in mechanical or electrical engineering, preferably within large-scale industrial or waste management facilities.
- Proficient in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, installation, and maintenance, particularly in industrial settings.
- Familiarity with waste management processes and the specific electrical requirements of such systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
