Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials.
- Construct and install frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames.
- Repair and maintain wooden structures and fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Work on-site to ensure quality and accuracy of work.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
Requirements
Education:
- Secondary school education or equivalent.
- Vocational training in carpentry or related field is an advantage.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in a construction or renovation setting.
- Familiarity with different carpentry techniques and materials.
Skills:
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
- Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Good attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Physical stamina and strength for manual labor.
