Data Centre - Commissioning Engineer
Job Description
- Develop and deliver the commissioning sequence and plan based on the specific requirements of the project.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to create testing scripts for data center equipment and services commissioning and submit these to relevant authorities for approval.
- Create a detailed testing and commissioning schedule, identifying and analyzing critical paths in the commissioning process.
- Work closely with the construction team to ensure all commissioning requirements are met, ensuring that key milestones are achieved.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors to facilitate their testing equipment setup and ensure their site requirements are accommodated.
- Monitor and track the progress of commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to the established schedule. Record and update the commissioning status on a weekly basis.
- Lead weekly commissioning meetings with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and consultants to track progress.
- Produce and issue weekly reports on commissioning activities, including a tracker for commissioning scripts and status updates.
- Document and resolve commissioning issues in collaboration with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities with vendors, contractors, and consultants.
- Consolidate, validate, and document daily testing reports.
- Coordinate logistics for testing equipment, such as heaters, data loggers, power quality analyzers (PQA), test PCs, and temporary air conditioning for Heat Load Tests and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Support the commissioning agent in Heat Load Test (HLT) and IST by managing vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Close out all testing and commissioning issues, and ensure the proper handover of documents as part of the Operation and Maintenance Manual (OMM).
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in any Engineering discipline.
- Around 3 years of relevant experience in data center testing and commissioning or a similar role.
- Knowledge and skills in data center systems and equipment, such as server, storage, network, power, cooling, fire protection and security.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with good communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Able to travel for oversea (SEA region) assignment if required
