Scope & purpose
- Laboratory Analyst shall be responsible to conduct water / non-water sample analysis for Sembcorp’s Plants and external customers. The analyst shall also be performing lab report preparations, reagent preparations, calibrations, equipment troubleshooting, and other routine duties to ensure smooth laboratory operation.
Key roles and responsibilities
- Follow the ISO17025 requirement in carrying out sample analysis from both internal and external customers.
- Proper data input into the laboratory documentation system to ensure traceability.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, perform and update the periodical quality checks.
- Calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy of results and maintain good conditions.
- Maintain good housekeeping, proper waste disposal, and overall compliance to safety regulations.
- Prepare reagents and standards as required for testing. Perform regular checks to ensure standards & reagents availability.
- Perform regular stock-checking, update safety checklist, conduct regular site-lab inspections.
- Conduct testing for quality & audit requirement (measurement uncertainty, proficiency test, audit demo tests).
- Other duties as assigned by Manager to ensure smooth operation of Laboratory services.

- Possess a self-driven personality, capable to work in a fast pace environment, with the ability to multi-task and adapt to highly dynamic situations.
- Perform analytical testing, reagent & standard preparation accurately as per SOP.
- Comfortable to work in a team and willingness to learn & adopt new ideas.
- Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) functionality.
- Familiarity of working with computer & digital tools.
Qualifications
- Minimum Nitec / Diploma holder in Chemistry or other science / engineering related to Chemistry.
- Entry level candidates are welcome to apply as training will be provided
- Working experience in an ISO accredited laboratory is preferred.
