Reporting to the Head of Operations & Technology, you shall be responsible to:
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the IT team on daily operations covering infrastructure, applications, network performance, soft and hardware, technical support, etc
- Lead the effort to design, build, and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact for the project team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality applications.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in relevant technologies, integrating innovative approaches for sustained competitive advantage.
- Motivate and manage staff and related activities like recruitment, performance evaluation, coaching
- Liaise and manage all vendors/ service providers on corporate telecommunications and IT-related projects to ensure contractual obligations are set and successfully delivered
- Handle overall planning and end-to-end implementation of Polisy400/ CIC/ CCFES/ website system development, Contact Centre front-end system and system platform
- Review and provide cost-effective IT solutions to business on insurance system related requirements for improvements to strength current IT framework
- Assist in system testing on different marketing campaigns, website enhancements, etc
- Monitor and control all IT-related expenses and budget
- Ensure proper documentation and measures, e.g. Business Continuity Plan (BCP), are in-place for audit checks and in accordance to MAS statutory guidelines
- Communicate and liaise with Group IT in Hong Kong and Malaysia on IT compliance standards and group projects
- Prepare and submit monthly management report, setup IT policies and establish/ update IT Operational Manual (SOP).
Job Requirements:
- A recognized Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant/ related qualification with at least 10 years of relevant work experience preferably in general insurance industry.
- Possess strong IT knowledge and hands-on experience in COBOL programming, Polisy400, backup, systems, storage, DR, wireless, email and database system.
- Excellent project, costs/ budget and vendor management capabilities.
- Highly organized and able to work within tight datelines with demonstrated success in managing projects.
- Hands-on experience in BCP and DR support is a must.
