The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 11-month contract at the Learning Sciences & Assessment Department.
Project Title: Examining the emotional regulation for feedback receptivity in Singapore Secondary Schools: An instrument development and validation study
Project Introduction: The project focuses on understanding how secondary school students in Singapore manage their emotions during feedback situations. Through face-to-face interview and focus group discussion with teachers and students using the Emotional Regulation Situational Judgement Test (SJT), the project aims to enhance student holistic learning and well-being.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology or related disciplines.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Good knowledge of qualitative research design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and experience using NVivo is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Experience working in a research or school environment preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
Duties would include but not limited to the following:
- Contacting schools to coordinate research.
- Organizing meetings.
- Taking meeting minutes.
- Data collection, entry, coding and analysis.
- Conducting literature reviews.
- Reporting writing.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI).
