OBS Instructor Recruitment Process


Candidates who are shortlisted will be invited for:


1. ISP Briefing

There will be a briefing session for all candidates to learn more about this meaningful career. You will also get to interact with the OBS team and have your questions answered through the session.

  • 6 November 2024 (Wednesday), 7.30pm - 9pm


2. Instructor Selection Process (ISP)

Your very own 3D2N outdoor expedition to find out if you have what it takes to be an OBS Instructor. You will go through physically and mentally challenging but rewarding activities over 72 hours. By applying for this round of ISP, you will need to fully commit on the ISP dates.

  • 29 November - 1 December 2024


3. Panel Interview

This is the final stage of becoming a Trainee Instructor. Bring your best self for a cosy chat with the OBS leaders to find out if there's a good match in terms of job expectations and cultural fit.

  • 5 or 6 December 2024 (TBC)


Requirements

  • Fresh graduates with Degree or Diploma are welcome to apply;
  • Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident;
  • Relevant experience and/or active sporting or outdoor background will be advantageous;
  • Passion for engaging and developing youths;
  • Able to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment; and
  • Be a team player who is effective, resourceful, and takes the initiative in work.

Important: If you have any of the medical conditions below, you may not be able to participate in the ISP due to safety considerations.


Condition(s) of Concern:

1. Cardiac conditions e.g. ischemic heart disease, arrhythmia, congenital heart conditions.

2. Respiratory conditions e.g. exercise-induced asthma

3. Seizure with history of episode or medication within the last two years.

4. History of anaphylaxis (due to environmental or food allergens)

5. Any condition(s) that may cause:

  • Inability to perform strenuous/physically demanding activities and movements for prolonged periods of time;
  • Inability to see colours or see in the dark/night;
  • Inability to conduct outdoor activities and independently supervise the safety of minors; and/or
  • Danger/hazard to self or others in the outdoors/wilderness.

Eligible applicants will be contacted within two (2) weeks after the job application closing date. You may deem your application unsuccessful if you do not hear from us by 31 October 2024.
