A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking a Laboratory Officer (Lab Operations) to join us in our mission to be a leading Centre of Infectious Diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.
The Laboratory Officer will engage in day-to-day operations of the laboratory, coordinating with various labs, vendors, and service providers to ensure efficient and effective workflow in ID Labs. This role will involve but is not limited to the following:
Job Description:
- Manage glassware inventory, including sorting for cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and re-distribution.
- Manage shared laboratory supplies, chemical and equipment inventory.
- Coordinate the maintenance, calibration, repair of faulty and recertification of laboratory equipment.
- Manage equipment maintenance, certification, and training log.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of lab supplies and maintenance equipment.
- Manage biohazard, chemical waste, and laundry schedule.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Preparation of annual shutdown of the institute
- Carry loads such as laundry and glassware
- Ad-hoc duties to facilitate smooth and efficient operation of the institute.
Job Requirements:
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience
- Minimum Diploma educational qualification
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a laboratory setting is an advantage
- Experience in preparing SOPs and basic equipment maintenance is an advantage
- Proficiency in written and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation
- Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
