About the role:

CGS International has embarked on Data & Analytics journey with the objective to become truly data-driven decision-making company. As a data analyst in the Analytics Centre of Excellence you will be part of a dynamic team whose mandate is to bring about data driven transformation for the Group.


We are looking to hire an experience data analyst to join our data team. The data analyst is responsible to conducts the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions. He/She will need to works directly with stakeholders from the business and executives within the assigned departments. With extensive experience in Power BI visualization, have the ability to develop insights and dashboard but also coach and guide users in Power BI best practices. The data analyst will support the development of the strategic agenda and system deployment for analytics and visualization including technology and system roadmap.


Job responsibilities:

  • Ability to interact with various business stakeholders and functional units to understand their reporting needs
  • Understand business drivers/ priorities and identify opportunities where analytics can create significant value
  • Translate business problems / opportunities into tangible analytics requirements and recommend potential solutions
  • Serve as a bridge / conduit between product owners, technology team and Analytics CoE to experiment, develop, test and roll out successful data driven solutions
  • Expect incumbent to provide business support on Power BI development, as business is embarking on self-service journey for business intelligence and analytics
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity
  • Training end users on new tech stack, develop best practices and self-service reports and dashboards.

Job requirement:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in MS Excel is a must
  • At least 2 year experience in designing and developing Power BI visualization and reporting
  • Experience in taking lead to implement Power BI, SSAS, DAX applications
  • Good understanding of BI Projects & Data Warehouse concepts
  • Proficient in Office 365, with knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with data management practices such as data governance and quality, business intelligence, data architecture and strategy, data security and privacy, data integration, master data management, and metadata management.
  • Passionate about solving problems – possesses a relentless need for investigation and data exploration.
  • Results and detail-oriented, with strong intuitions on how to solve problems creatively and quickly
  • Degree or professional qualifications in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or equivalent degree.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets
  • Experience tracking relevant KPIs (e.g. customer satisfaction)
  • A customer-oriented attitude
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Able to speak both english and chinese to converse with external clients
