Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teacher to join our team. This role involves leading, designing, and implementing individualized learning plans for students with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various developmental challenges and be driven by a desire to see children grow and thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Tailor educational programs that address the unique needs of each student, incorporating academic, social, and life skills development.
- Engaging Lesson Delivery: Lead dynamic, adventure-driven lessons that foster exploration, creativity, and discovery for children with diverse developmental needs.
- Behavioural Support: Implement positive behavioral strategies and interventions to support the emotional and social development of students, ensuring their progress in alignment with their individual goals.
- Collaborate with Support Teams: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other educational staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s development.
- Parental Involvement: Communicate regularly with parents or caregivers about their child’s progress, providing insights on how the development of new skills and behaviors can improve the family’s overall quality of life.
- Track and Assess Progress: Regularly evaluate each student’s academic and behavioral progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to meet individual goals.
- Create a Safe and Supportive Environment: Foster an inclusive classroom setting that promotes the well-being and engagement of all students, allowing them to explore their abilities in a safe space.
- Engage in Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest research, strategies, and best practices in special education and developmental needs to provide the highest quality education for students.
