Job Description
· ALP Lessons:
-Support the ALP lessons on relevant logistics where students are equippedwith baseline knowledge of Design Thinking (DT) Principles
-Support the ALP lessons on relevant hardware including but not limited to Microbit, M5Go, Artificial Intelligence according to given schedule and school’s needs
-Provide advice to students on the technical feasibility of their projects, and provide suggestions for improvement
-Conduct ALP lessons in the technical aspects with the support of teachers
· ALP Talent Development:
-Support talented students in ALP and coding through school-based programme during curriculum time and after-school
-Support students with the ideation, design and development of products at school’s maker-space during curriculum time and after-school
· Hardware-support for ALP lessons and activities:
-Prepare all necessary facilities and equipment before start of ALP lessons and activities
-Return all equipment to designated places at the end of ALP lessons and activities
-Ensuring that all facilities are operational during ALP lessons and activities, by working together with ICT -Manager/Associate and Desktop Engineers (DE)
-Assisting teachers and students when they encounter difficulties in using the computers, Personal Learning Devices (PLDs) or other equipment during their ALP lessons and activities.
· School-related Administration:
-Update official school website and school broadcast system
-Learn new programming software or technologies e.g. IOT, AI when exploring new STEM coding programme or activities with the school
-Work with the STEM Instructors (Lab) to keep track of, and organize the ALP inventory in the school’s maker-space for efficient conduct of lessons and activities
· Perform any other ALP and school-related tasks as assigned by School Leader/Key Personnel
Requirements
· Able to read, write and speak in English.
· Have good communication and inter-personal skills.
· Is a good team player and responsible in carrying out tasks in school when duties are assigned
· Preferably with at least 3 years working experience in a Secondary school environment, and with students.
· Experienced in designing and delivering lessons to secondary school students.
· Possess intermediate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills in the following:
-Personal Computers (PCs) troubleshooting
-Microsoft Office (MS) Office software
-Google Suites applications
· Possess intermediate STEM or coding language such as Micro:bit, M5Go
· Possess intermediate knowledge in the following:
-Computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing software eg Sketch-up, On-shape, TinkerCad (CAD) and Cura, Flash print (3DP).
-Operation of 3D Printer
-Soldering to construct electrical circuits using electronic components.
· Be flexible with working hours depending on school needs.
Working hours
· Mondays & Wednesdays: 7.30am to 3.30pm inclusive of 1/2hr lunch break
· Tuesdays & Thursdays: 7.30am to 5:00pm inclusive of 1/2hr lunch break
· Fridays: 7:30am to 1.00pm
· Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
