We are looking for a new colleague in the position Director, Public and Regulatory Affairs to join the Public and Regulatory Affairs team in Telenor Asia’s regional headquarter in Singapore. Public and regulatory affairs is a strategic function in Telenor Asia’s External Relations team, that manages business environment risk for Telenor in the region through effective stakeholder management as well as monitoring and shaping policies and regulations.
In this role you will be exposed to both in-market operational experience and regional developments. In your capacity as a Public and Regulatory Affairs expert, you will have the opportunity to shape regulation and policies within Telenor markets in Asia as well as emerging international regulatory topics. You will work in developing thought leadership in digital infrastructure or technology policy areas that support Telenor’s beyond connectivity ambitions. In this role, you will also engage with key stakeholders to help mitigate regulatory issues and strengthen Telenor’s reputation in Asia.
As Director, Public and Regulatory Affairs, you will have the following responsibility:
- Advise the Asia management team and country investment managers on emerging Business Environment trends, risk, and policies including expert advisory on specific regulatory topics as well as M&A.
- Be the primary touchpoint for our OpCos on all matters relating to public and regulatory affairs, including building capacity and best practice knowledge sharing.
- Grow and strengthen prioritized in-market stakeholder relations and regional strategic alliances to deliver ownership value as well as broaden advocacy agenda.
- Represent Telenor Asia as a thought leader on key telecom and technology policy and regulatory topics, at international fora and events.
You would be a good candidate for this role, if you relate to some of the following:

- Team player with strong networking and interpersonal skills
- Extensive corporate affairs, external relations and project management experience. Exposure to government agencies and/or international development partners is an added advantage.
- Experience in telecommunications policies and regulations.
- Experience with emerging topics such as digital economy, digital infrastructure, data governance, AI.
- Able to multitask and carry out diverse projects across different teams in order to influence and drive policy changes in Telenor’s markets in Asia.
- University or college degree in Political Science, International Relations, Law or Engineering.
