Technical Writer
Job responsibilities:
- Research editorial functionality, release delivery requirements and determine process flows and technical content.
- Create and implement authoring template to shorten the distance from ideation to execution by using text modules.
- Produce clear written communications with quality visual images for user documentation such as Quick Guide, Instruction Manuals, Safety Guide, etc.
- Collect input from Development Team, Regulatory Team and Product Management Team and organise into concise documentation addressing needs and expectations of customers.
- Upload and manage documentation into the product development platform such as PLM database and Web-CMS.
- Plan and manage external agencies to produce documentation requirements.
- Plan and monitor the budget for the external agency for the projects with respective Project Manager.
- Manage the production of user documents in collaboration with Purchasing.
- Coordinate translations into easily understandable language.
- Contribute to developing, improving, and innovating processes and methods used within the role.
- Keep product documentation up to date through life cycle.
- Develop plans to ensure you meet project deadlines.
- Proofread drafts and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency with publication guidelines.
- Communicate technical information to stakeholders.
- Support appropriate maintenance of data systems and structures.
- Provide active independent support to projects milestones completed in time.
Pre-requisites:
- Degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient with Adobe software like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and FrameMaker. XML based editorial systems is an added advantage.
- Able to solve complex, multi-profession, technical problems.
- Able to create and lead a popup team to solve problems.
- Team player and able to provide mentoring and coaching to juniors in the Team.
