We are representing our client in the Shipping industry to look for an experienced Senior Marine Superintendent.
This position will ensure the safe operation and security of the ships he/her has been assigned to, provide a link between the senior level and those on board to ensure safety and pollution prevention aspects of the operation, and to ensure that adequate resources and shore-based support are applied as required.
Responsibilities:
- Verification of the Safety Management System (SMS) review the quality and effectiveness of the procedure
- Incident prevention & investigation including handling / follow up of P&I insurance matters arising out of the incident
- All internal / external audits
- Briefing of senior officers, Safety Management System (SMS) familiarization on board
- Assisting Technical Superintendent
- Crew appraisals
- Emergency Response
- Safety Meeting & Management Review on board
- Implementation of Policies & Procedures as per company SMS
- Sharing Charter Party details & ensuring implementation of charter requirements as per Charter Party on board vessel as required
- Ad hoc Projects as assigned by Deputy General Manager (Marine) or Global Head of Technical
- Incident prevention & investigation including handling of P&I insurance matters
Requirements:
- Degree in Maritime Studies/Marine Engineering
- Min 3 years of shore experience in HSEQ role
- Min 1-2 years of shore experience in Vetting/Quality Assurance
- Shore experience in Marine Operation field , QHSE is a must
- Experienced on container vessels and with 2 years in handling Operation in Office side is a must
- Min 1 year sailing experience as a Master
- Relevant certifications such as STCW, ISM Lead Auditor, Class 1/2 COC etc
- In depth understanding of the industry and knowledge of key stakeholders
- Success track record in business leadership
