Responsibilities
- This role involves providing actuarial advice and services, particularly with respect to technical pricing, to meet the strategic goals of the company.
- Require you to work on the development and maintenance of actuarial models, conduct portfolio review and experience studies, proactively conduct re-pricing exercises on existing treaties and contribute to product development initiatives.
- Conduct experience studies, rate adequacy analysis and financial projections on existing medical reimbursement treaties.
- Present findings from technical pricing work to senior actuarial management.
- Adhere to the Actuarial Control Cycle and compliance with company's Pricing Standards through proper documentation of all pricing tasks.
- Work with Underwriters, Business Development Managers and Claims Team on treaty pricing reviews and product development projects.
- Assist Reporting and Analytics actuaries by supplying assumptions for budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Assist with projects related to the updating and maintenance of both the pricing tools and rate-making methodology.
- Keep abreast to local developments within both the medical reimbursement market and international actuarial practices.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics or business-related field.
- 3 years’ experience working in an actuarial role, preferably in medical reimbursement (e.g. employee benefits).
- Proficient in MS Office, VBA, SQL and a high degree of comfort working with large datasets is preferred.
