KidSTART Singapore Ltd. (KSL) is a non-profit organization, incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) in Sep 2020 to support low-income families with children 0-6 years old in child development, especially through the KidSTART programme.
Description of Division/Branch
The Community Engagement team will oversee engagement with community partners and volunteers. Through strong relationship building with community partners, the team’s goal will be to seek opportunities to grow community support via community and/or volunteer led programmes and volunteer stewardship. The programmes, activities and initiatives led by the team will support KidSTART’s strategic thrust of strong parent-child relationships, recruitment of children to hit 80% of eligible children per cohort and building of a coordinated ecosystem of support from community partners.
Responsibilities
Engagement with Community partners
- Work with community partners such as government bodies, statutory boards, social service agencies, self-help groups, religious bodies and associations to co-create and deliver initiatives to support parent-child relationships and engagements.
- Oversee all community engagements in the various KSAs and ensure alignment in efforts
- Recruit, train, engage and deploy volunteers to fill programme needs.
- Develop Community Engagement policies and protocols that can be translated to social service agencies supporting KidSTART programmes.
- Ensure clear KPIs are drawn for each community led initiative or programme.
Cross department collaborations
- Work with Programme teams (Service Management & Programme Planning) to ensure cohesive engagements with community partners.
- Work with C&E Partnership team to ensure alignment in work streams (eg: Calling out of activities to families, calling out of volunteers, database management of beneficiaries’ data and information)
- Work with Strategic Communications team on communications plans to support community led initiatives, programmes or volunteer call outs.
Volunteer Management
- Maintain and grow volunteer base through outreach to individuals and community-based organisations.
- Develop & oversee volunteer management policies, practices, and processes.
- Execute and evaluate volunteer publicity and recruitment efforts, orientation, training, volunteer recognition and engagement activities.
- Ensure sustainability assessment of volunteers and evaluate the effectiveness of volunteers/volunteer partnerships.
Qualifications/Competencies
- At least 5 years of stakeholder engagement, partnership and/or community engagement and volunteer management experience
- Able to lead and handle projects timely and effectively with an eye for details.
- Excellent independent team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good facilitation skills and ability to engage and influence different stakeholders.
- Proficiency in a mother tongue language is an advantage.
