Solutions Engineering Manager - Wise Platform

Solutions Engineering at Wise is a post sales role, focussed on working with our integrating partners to enable them to successfully launch a product based on Wise’s products. The role is multifaceted but it has two main responsibilities — technical delivery of partners and solutioning of complex new integrations. This includes providing technical consulting, designing technical architecture and proposing novel features and how we will build them — solving for our partner’s constraints and working internally to influence the product roadmap.

Wise is expanding the Solutions Engineering function globally and we are looking for a Solutions Engineering Manager to join our APAC team to support both new and existing Wisers to achieve their potential in a fast growing team and organisation. You will work across our partners, your own team, Wise Platform and the wider organisation to maximise your team’s impact.

Your role in the team:

  • You’ll be responsible for the overall health, productivity and quality of your team and their output.
  • You’ll provide feedback on your team’s approach, help them make data-driven decisions and learn from their experiences and mistakes.
  • You’ll have an overview of what’s happening across the organisation and think about how this impacts partners, in terms of opportunities and risks, using this to input to the strategy of Wise Platform in APAC and beyond.
  • You’ll analyse how we work and deliver changes to improve our tooling and processes to streamline technical delivery.
  • When needed, you’ll roll your sleeves up to be involved in the project delivery process.

Qualifications

Is that you?

  • Have lead a team in a post-sales engineering or technical delivery capacity
  • Have a background in software engineering or similar technical role, writing and shipping production quality code, with at least three years experience.
  • Have previously worked with external parties to deliver technical projects with REST API integrations.
  • Experience building, leading and mentoring driven and a high performing technical delivery team.
  • Comfortable working on big challenges and a history of successfully delivering best in class solutions and products.
  • Experience building and designing scalable and performing systems within a microservice architecture.
  • Expert on all things API, such as RESTful design, OpenAPI, OAuth2, versioning, etc.
  • Have a strong product mindset and be able to support others to make the right decisions and compromises.
  • Experience on managing client relationships and setting accurate expectations, along with handling escalations.

…but don’t worry we don’t expect you to know everything!

Nice to have bonuses:

  • Have worked in the payment or fintech industries.
  • Experience working across multiple tech stacks and frameworks.
  • Experience working with large incumbent partners such as major banks.
