Resident Physician - Preventive and Chronic care (42 Hours)

Primary Healthcare and Chronic Illness Management:

  • Diagnosis and Treatment: The doctor would diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma, among others.
  • Medication Management: Monitoring and adjusting medications for patients with chronic conditions to ensure proper control and avoid complications.
  • Follow-ups: Regular consultations for chronic disease monitoring and adjustments to treatment plans based on the patient's condition.

Health Screenings:

  • Routine Medical Examinations: Conducting regular health screenings, including blood tests, vision tests, hearing tests, and physical exams to assess the overall health and fitness of professionals.
  • Fitness Assessments: Providing evaluations to ensure that the professionals are physically fit to carry out their duties, especially those involving high levels of physical activity or stress.
  • Occupational Health Check-ups: Monitoring the health of personnel for any occupational hazards and recommending preventative measures.

Preventive Healthcare:

  • Health Education: Promoting healthy lifestyle habits to prevent illnesses through advice on diet, exercise, stress management, and smoking cessation.
  • Vaccinations: Administering necessary vaccinations, such as flu vaccines or specific vaccinations required for particular job roles.

Family Healthcare:

  • Medical Care for Families: Providing general medical care, health screenings, and chronic illness management for the families of uniformed personnel.

Referral to Specialists:

  • If more specialized care is needed, the doctor may refer patients to specialists within the appropriate healthcare networks or institutions.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Medical Support for Emergencies: Providing medical assessments in cases of injuries or emergencies encountered during the course of duty by working professionals.
  • The role combines general practice with a focus on preventive and chronic care management, tailored to the needs of both working professionals and their families.

Requirements

  • SMC Full Registration
  • Working hours: Monday - Friday Office Hours (and or half saturday)
  • Ability to commence within short notice will be highly advantageous
