- Location: Alexandra Technopark - Labrador Park (Nearest MRT)
- Salary: up to $5,000
- 6 months contract (Maternity Cover)
- Working hours: 5 days work week
Responsibilities
- Supports the Legal Department by performing legal research and analysis, and provides support on litigation, bankruptcy, contracts and other legal matters with little or no supervision.
- Directly handles routine and semi-routine matters on behalf of Legal Department.
- Provides administrative support to the Legal Department staff members.
- Provides assistance in preparing for Board Meetings and Council Meetings.
- Maintains Corporate Minute books.
- Performs legal research and drafts legal documents as requested by Legal Department staff. Assists Legal Department staff with contract review as requested. Assists in all matters related to litigation management.
- Handles requests related to work visas, work permits, powers of attorney, and consularizations/apostilles.
- Maintains trademark registrations and copyright licenses.
- Primarily responsible for updating and maintaining Legal Department document retention and tracking of same.
- Assists with preparation of presentation materials for both Legal and Export Compliance.
- Attends internal company training programs.
- Handles processing of vendor invoices, enforces billing protocols and develops related procedures for the Legal Department.
- Keeps abreast of relevant and potentially useful PC business applications and attends training courses as needed.
- Develops sound knowledge of company operations necessary to identify, meet and anticipate the needs of the department’s clients.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in related field
- 2 – 3 years of relevant experience as Paralegal
- Substantial experience as a paralegal or a combination of education and experience. Previous experience working with contracts is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of office automation software, which may include spreadsheet or database applications, word processing, and presentation applications. Ability to learn additional programs as required.
- Knowledge of legal terminology.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels of employees and outside clients in a professional and business-like manner.
- Uses initiative and discretion in accomplishing routine assignments with minimum supervision.
- Ability to handle routine and non-routine business matters in the absence of a supervisor.
- Ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines.
- Must be a self starter and have strong organizational skills.
- Physically able to handle department files and storage boxes.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
