- Hazardous Waste/Material Disposal Manager shall have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, or Environmental Engineering and have completed a formal 40-hour training course in hazardous waste management.
- Hazardous Waste/Material Disposal Manager shall have completed first aid training including cardio pulmonary respiratory (CPR) resuscitation certification.
- The Hazardous Waste/Material Disposal Manager shall have intimate knowledge of local and U.S. hazardous waste regulations and hazardous substances transportation requirements, and have certification of Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) training and forklift operations.
- Shall have a minimum of two years of experience as the Hazardous Waste Coordinator for a Medium Quantity Generator as defined by 40 CFR, or as approved by Government Environmental.
- The Manager shall serve as the emergency coordinator in the event of a spill or accident.
- Personnel shall have at least five years of work experience performing spill assessment, containment and cleanup of oil or hazardous substance spills in industrial settings.
- All spill response personnel, personnel handling, packaging or shipping HW/M shall successfully complete a program of classroom instruction or on-the-job training covering hazardous waste/material management as required by 40 CFR and 29 CFR.
- All spill response personnel, personnel performing handling, packaging and shipping of HM/W for transportation shall successfully complete training covering 29 CFR commensurate with their duties. Training certificates shall be maintained and in each person’s training folder together with qualification statement and job description. At a minimum, at least one employee shall be authorized to certify outgoing shipments of hazardous cargo material at all times. Training courses are offered by the Naval Supply Corp School in Athens, GA. This school certifies shippers for multi-modal shipments of hazardous material. - Hazardous Material (HM) and Hazardous Waste (HW) Personnel Responsible for eTracking or Signing Manifests: All personnel responsible for eTracking or signing manifests for HM or HW shall be certified by attending Hazardous Cargo Certification course IAW NAVSUP 505 and AFR 71-4. Certification is valid for two years, after which re-certification is required. The Contractor shall be responsible for the coordination of certification with NAVSUP FLC Site Singapore no later than 6 months prior to expiration.
Sampling Personnel:
All personnel who perform sampling shall have passed the Environmental Quality Sampling course offered by Naval Civil Engineer Corps Officers School (CECOS), or be approved by KO.
