Job Description
- Brief all divers on the operational & contingency plans and procedures to be followed during the diving operation.
- Maintain safety of dive team and ensure that the diving operation is carried out from dive site equipped to deal with emergencies as per diving operation manual.
- Oversee diving operations to ensure that their execution complies with the legal requirements of HSE, SS511 & IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) and diving systems management of the company.
- Ensure that the diving equipment is adequate and in good operating condition.
- Plan the mobilization of diving equipment & personnel by conferring with relevant parties.
- Analyse records & reports to validate their compliance with Company & IMCA/SS511 standards.
- Compliance in accordance with SS511 & Company codes and HSE standards.
- To stand in as Dive Supervisor or Diver as and when required.
- Conduct repair and maintenance of commercial diving equipment as per manufacturers recommendations.
- Conduct periodic testing of commercial diving equipment to industry and manufacturer regulations.
- Maintain a Planned Maintenance System for all equipment.
- Carry out cleaning and maintenance of life support diving equipment.
- Carry out air purity testing of all breathing gases.
- Re-calibrate diving equipment pressure gauges.
- Carry out periodic inspections and preventative maintenance measures.
- Look after the workshop and stores area and maintain a hazard free work environment.
- Support commercial diving operations by assisting with mobilisations of air diving equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment associated with diving operations including but not limited to: Dive compressors, dive umbilicals, diving helmets, regulatory, hydraulic power units (HPU), dive control vans, deck chambers, radios, video equipment, air and gas racks.
- Possesses an understanding of the operation and repair of A/C and DC voltage equipment.-Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical schematics.
- Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical schematics.-Must be capable of conducting maintenance operations in a safe and efficient manner.
- Knowledge of emergency and safety procedures, proper operation and use of all equipment related to air diving, including decompression chambers.
- Must show discretion, good judgement, organizational or mangement ability, initaiative, and the ability to work independently.
Requirements
- Must be physically fit
- Must possess relevant dive technician certificate accepted by Singapore Authority
- Detailed knowledge of one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical or hydraulic engineering
- Practical and safe working experience on diving equipment
- Seek technical skills such as safety, emergency procedures, preventive maintenance, breakdown situations, administration.
