1.0 Basic Function
- Perform the issuing of clean linens and uniforms and receiving of soiled linens and uniforms and all laundry functions as directed by the laundry / linen keeper.
2.0 Responsibility and Authority
- Report to duty on time and in uniforms.
- Count and record individual items, identify special process requiring extraordinary treatment such as hand spotting, mending, stain removing.
- Sort articles of clothing and linen by kind, colour and degree of soil into separated loads, ensuring that no trash e.g. paper, plastic, metals, foodstuff etc in clothing and linen to be loaded into washer.
- Clean, mark and classify items for dry cleaning.
- Keep the work areas clean and tidy at all times.
- Handle the issuing and receiving of linens and uniforms on a basis of one for one.
- Perform other duties as directed.
