Job Objective
This role is responsible for ensuring integration of business processes and efficient operations of coal shipments. This may include creating policies and guidelines for the Abaqa Power team and leading the projects on process improvement and optimization. He/she also coordinates with internal and external stakeholders on pertinent commercial and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Fuel Procurement
- Responsible for working closely with the Fuel Management Team in the Manila head office and Power Station Operations as far as fuel-related activities are concerned.
- Monitors short- and long-term shipment plans based on actual consumptions and consumption projections coordinated with the Aboitiz Power Thermal power plants.
- Ensures that all fuel procurement transactions are in accordance with the policies and standards and with proper documentation and controls. Coordinates with Finance and Accounting on payable policies and procedures.
- Maintain purchasing documents, files, and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Identifies sensitive, high-risk or business critical issues, develops mitigation strategies and escalates and consults with leaders to agree on a suitable course of action in a timely manner.
- Resolve potential conflicts between the Group and 3rd parties (suppliers, customers, and shipping).
- Anticipate and mitigate risks and take initiative in proposing alternative solutions to issues.
Data Management
- Evaluate/Analyze current procurement activities and recommend improvements.
- Update the changes to related business standard practices and interpretprocedures to faculty.
- Review and monitor data for all pertinent business units, liaise with the team for corrections in order to maintain completeness and accuracy of purchasing data.
Other Tasks
- Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management etc.
- Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Education & Requirements
- Minimum a Degree in Engineering preferred or related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years work experience with at least 4-5 years of experience in related fuel and/or fuel operations profession.
- Working knowledge of Import/Export procedures, INCOTERMS, and International Trade.
- Familiar with documentation and order processing, a good understanding of procurement practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of GAFTA will be an advantage.
- Knowledge with MS Word & Excel.
