[Key Job Responsibilities]
As a Desktop Engineer at BusinessIT Pte Ltd, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients’ IT infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities will include providing top-tier technical support, managing hardware, and troubleshooting network and software issues. Specifically, you will work on:
- End-User Support: Provide timely, front-line support for hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to user productivity.
- Hardware Management: Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and other peripherals.
- Software Installation & Troubleshooting: Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot software applications on Windows environments (Linux/macOS experience is a plus but not mandatory).
- Network & Connectivity Support: Troubleshoot network issues, ensuring users have reliable access to LAN/WAN and VPN services.
- Incident Management: Manage and resolve user-reported issues through our ticketing system, prioritizing tasks to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to company security protocols, including antivirus updates, encryption, and patch management.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for troubleshooting processes, user guides, and system configurations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT staff to resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in an on-call rotation, handling after-hours support and responding to critical system issues as needed. Ad-hoc support may also be required in cases of urgent customer needs.

As a Desktop Engineer, your day will begin with reviewing and prioritizing tickets in the company’s IT support system. You’ll troubleshoot hardware and software issues, such as diagnosing a laptop failure or resolving network connectivity problems for remote clients. Whether you’re configuring new workstations or applying routine software updates, you’ll work closely with team members and end-users to solve problems and enhance system performance.
At the end of the day, you’ll document your resolutions and contribute to improving internal processes, all while keeping our IT infrastructure running smoothly and efficiently.

[Basic Qualifications]
- Minimum 1 year of experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Windows operating systems, with the ability to troubleshoot a wide range of issues.
- Knowledge of network/systems configuration and troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Domain Controllers.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Experience working with Active Directory for user account management and permissions.
[Preferred Qualifications]
- Nitec or Diploma in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
- Certifications in relevant fields (e.g., CompTIA A+, CCNA, ITIL) are a plus.
- Experience with remote support tools such as TeamViewer or Remote Desktop.
- Knowledge of cloud computing environments and IT security practices.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
