What are we looking for?

Our Advanced Process Manufacturing, Singapore is seeking a Safety Manager with a solid background in construction support to join our growing team in Singapore. The Safety Manager will be responsible for the Safety team based on the Client site. The Safety Manager will work directly with the Client EHS Site Lead and will be responsible for all site Safety activities for the team. The Safety Manager will lead the complete EHS program within the criteria set out in the EHS Project Execution plan for this project.


Job Scope:

  • Reviewing Construction Project Execution Plans (CPEPs) and Managing to the Client Minimum Performance Requirements (MPR) and Corporate Construction EHS Manual.
  • Having an expert understanding of Client construction EHS requirements/expectations.
  • Performing Project Readiness Reviews
  • Leading Construction EHS Field walks with senior management
  • Developing and tracking leading and lagging indicators for each construction project
  • Leading/participating in incident investigations and driving the closure of findings.
  • Drive the collection of data and interpret findings from Client's Safe Behavior Observation (or similar) platform. Example platform - Predictive Solutions; See Something, Say Something, Do Something
  • Perform Go-No Gos for each contractor.
  • Get buy in and drive Injury Free Environment (IFE) performance on the project.
  • Understanding and interpreting Federal, State and Local EHS codes related to construction environments.
  • Making key decisions in an ever-changing construction environment that support Client's IFE culture.
  • Update construction EHS related documents.
  • Incident Notification to Client CMs, Project Managers, Tool Install Managers, Directors of Construction.
  • Provide input during the Supplier Report Card process.
  • Any tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Project Execution:

  • Ensure that each and every contractor’s (GC/CM/EPCM/Subcontractor/Multiple Prime) Project Execution Plans are complete and meet or exceed Client’s EHS Minimum Performance Standards
  • Ensure all Federal, State, Local laws and regulations are being enforced and that all Client EHS policies and procedures are adequately implemented and enforced.
  • Provide coaching/mentoring to any/all contractors and their mgmt., as necessary, to ensure a safe, healthful and environmentally compliant project is maintained at all times
  • Ensure both leading and lagging performance indicators are in place and used to effectively manage performance trends.
  • Perform projects EHS readiness reviews for new projects, communicate gaps and corrective actions needed

Staffing:

  • In conjunction with Client CEHS Manager, review/approve all contractor safety staffing plans and proposed safety professionals to ensure adequate qualifications/experience/skills are present.

Safety Culture:

  • Must maintain a leadership role in the promulgation of the projects Injury Free Culture. This includes assuming a leadership role through coaching/ mentoring/teaching, leading by example and developing new ideas/programs to further the Injury Free Culture

Training:

  • Develop training/orientation programs, as necessary, to ensure all trade and mgmt personnel are adequately aware of all safety requirements and performance expectations.
  • Co-develop with CM/GC Safety Manager a project specific training plan & matrix that incorporates all phases of the project from site orientation to Op Ready.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or higher in occupational safety
  • 4+ years’ experience in similar role
  • DOSH registered green or yellow book holder or equivalent.
    Experience in mega projects and semiconductor tools installs are added advantage.
  • Team player, willingness to manage and participate in diverse teams.

Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related discipline with 5 years documented project management experience
  • Experience at the Client sites, specifically working in TD and/or HVM environment
  • Documented experience driving successful continuous improvement projects
  • Documented experience leading and directing the work of others
  • Documented experience managing safety of construction projects with a variety of experience in construction EHS disciplines

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in EHS or related discipline
  • Minimum 2 yr Equipment Sign-Off experience
  • Previous experience working as field construction safety resource
