Position Summary:
The AV Service Engineering and Operations Coordinator is responsible for providing technical support, data collection, coordinating maintenance and operation activities to ensure the optimal operation of autonomous vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Level 1 Troubleshooting and Technical Support:
- Provide on-site Level 1 troubleshooting support (when activated) and debugging for technical issues encountered. Work with Level 2 support to identify, diagnose, and resolve basic configurations concerns, or minor hardware malfunctions.
- Collaborate with specialized teams or senior engineers to escalate complex issues beyond Level 1 for further analysis and resolution.
- Offer comprehensive customer support by resolving queries, providing technical assistance, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Execute routine data collection processes from data loggers, onboard sensors, software systems, diagnostic tools and feedback forms
- Analyze collected data to identify performance patterns, trends, and potential areas for optimization or preventive maintenance
Maintenance Coordination:
- Conduct and facilitate regular inspections, diagnostic tests, and scheduled maintenance for all vehicle assets including on-board equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Develop maintenance schedules, ensuring adherence to protocols and manufacturer's guidelines for regular inspections, software updates, and component replacements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain meticulous records of Level 1 troubleshooting procedures, data collection findings, and maintenance activities performed on the buses.
- Generate detailed reports outlining identified issues, recommended solutions, and actions taken for each maintenance task or diagnostic analysis.
Operational Coordination:
- Coordinate operational activities including scheduling, resource allocation, and route optimization for the AV fleet.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and management teams to facilitate coordination between technical tasks and operational requirements.
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Any other additional duties not listed above but deemed appropriate for product and operations support by project basis.
Qualifications:
- Minimally a diploma in relevant Engineering field with equivalent work experience, with a focus on mechatronics preferred
- Familiarity with Unix (Ubuntu) environment
- Good understanding of Class 4 autonomous buses equipped with SAE Level 4 autonomy, including sensor technology, control systems, and software.
- Proficiency in Level 1 troubleshooting, data collection methodologies, and coordination of maintenance activities for Class 3 and 4 vehicles and electronics equipment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
- Dedication to meticulous documentation and reporting practices.
- A Class 3/4 driving license will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in service engineering, technical support and/or operations coordination. Prior experience related to Class 3 and 4 vehicles will be an advantage.
