[What the role is]
The Cluster Development Department (CDD) enhances capabilities in the Environmental Services (ES) industry by building up their local track records, facilitating collaborations with various stakeholders from public and private sectors, creating opportunities for export by ready companies, through international platforms such as the CleanEnviro Summit Singapore.
CDD facilitates the exchange of expertise with foreign cities in overseas projects, reaping economic spin offs for our enterprises. It also works closely with stakeholders from the public and private sectors to implement the strategies and initiatives under the ES Industry Transformation Map (ES ITM). The vision is to transform our ES industry to a vibrant, sustainable and professional ES industry for Singapore and growing cities.
[What you will be working on]
As the Assistant Director of CDD, you will be responsible for the following:
- Identify industry’s problem statements that may hinder the deliverance of reliable and professional services to ensure clean environment in Singapore, and co-develop solutions with the technology solution providers and ES industry to address these challenges
- Assess the current industrial processes/technologies/systems deployed by the companies, and identify technology gaps to grow the capability of the companies
- Organise and curate platforms (such as INCUBATE Programme, Innovation Calls, Technology Connect Sessions) to spur innovation and technology adoption
- Collaborate with stakeholders from the public and private sectors to strengthen the innovation and commercialisation ecosystem in the ES industry
- Establish and promote track records of Singapore-based environmental services companies for local & foreign markets, as well as in platforms like CleanEnviro Summit Singapore that the dept organises
- Provide administrative and secretariat support
[What we are looking for]
The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities:
- Engineering-related field
- Preferably with at least 5 years of working experience in project management or industry development work
- Ability to assess technical proposals to assess the efficacy of the proposed solutions for wider adoption
- Good business sense of the opportunities for the environmental industry, locally as well as internationally
- Able to relate well with internal as well as external partners and stakeholders
- IT-savvy and strong in conceptualising as well presenting/communicating ideas
- Possess collaborative team spirit
- Can travel overseas on short notice
