Job Description:
- Manage the operation and maintenance of the co-generation plant and its ancillary systems.
- Plan, arrange, and coordinate the arrival of boiler fuel (biomass, sludge, etc.) with the transport and logistics team.
- Liaise with MOM and NEA for annual statutory inspections of the boiler and report submissions.
- Prepare procedures, checklists, and training materials to train technicians and operators.
- Conduct engineering works to enhance plant and company efficiencies and synergies.
- Coordinate with the maintenance and engineering departments and contractors to address respective tasks.
- Source materials, contractors, and spare parts, and liaise with suppliers for procurement and delivery.
- Collaborate with external parties and organizations for commercial and technical improvements of the plant.
- Closely monitor chimney emissions and control combustion in compliance with relevant government laws and regulations.
- Liaise with internal departments and external parties for the execution of new projects.
- Ensure plant safety and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate with spent grain suppliers to schedule plant operations.
- Communicate with animal feed customers to prevent product quality issues.
- Manage dryer operations in compliance with SFA and NEA requirements.
- Handle inspections and issues from NEA, SFA, and MOM.
- Manage ISO tank heating services and coordinate with ISO customers.
- Ensure timely ISO tank releases according to customer temperature requests.
- Ensure overall efficiency of the plant and optimize the treatment process.
- Control operating expenses.
- Ensure proper implementation of health and safety plans.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Plant Manager, Plant Engineer and Assist Plant Engineer.
Job Criteria/Requirements:
- Minimum a Diploma in engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of the waste management industry is advantageous.
- Familiarity with boiler and turbine systems, steam generation, and associated mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to commit to 12-hour shifts
- Possessing a CLASS 2 Boiler Attendant registration under MOM is an advantage.
Must-Have Skills:
- Preferably a supervisor or senior executive specialized in engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
- Ability to assist in controlling and inspecting all boiler parameters and safety systems in boilers and turbines.
- Strong communication skills.
