The Trade Broker / Senior Trade Executive will embark on a journey in developing, maintaining, and approving the Trade pricing desk. Providing strong support to the agents to helps them understand their trade requirements and market information on new trade lanes. Responsible for addressing the cargoes flow for all trade lanes to achieve budget and lifting. Having bidding knowledge of tender submission and how to improve the same. Providing market benchmarking of rates offered and profitability in Trade Lane.
To serve as primary support to the Trade team to improve and drive the Trade volumes and achieving the target set for the year.
Ø Capacity Management
- Ensure every Dead-freight allocation is filled either by TEUs or Weight
- Monitor excess slot & update the space control template for dead freight services.
- Ensure agent update booking/loading in TMS.
- Liaise with Feeder Operator to maximize Excess and Open Slot loadings.
Ø Yield & Volume Management
- Responsible for profitability & volume target for respective Trade being assigned.
- Track & monitor revenue versus slot cost to maximize positive contribution.
Ø System Management
- Ensure all stakeholders use and promptly update required information/data into Transliner Manager System (TMS)
- Be actively involved in IT enhancement process and system gradation relating to Trade function.
Ø Agency Management
- Manage local agents to ensure Key Performance Indexes are met.
- Conduct regular meetings with agents to deliver trade direction and obtain updated market information.
Ø Equipment Management:
- Liaise with Inventory Team to ensure equipment sufficiency for respective locations.
Ø Proactively monitor and analyze origin allocation and forecasts, space performance, and space loading factors.
Ø Strategizing new & existing Trade lanes and implement pricing strategies to achieve given objectives and all decisions/strategies made are aligned with Group/Management direction.
Ø Participating in weekly trade meetings and providing market intelligence, competitors rates.
Ø Proactively source for reliable market intelligence (rates/capacity adjustments) to stay on top of market changes.
Ø Analyze and prepare reports on business performance and budget variances, suggest corrective and improvement actions.
Ø To be responsible for any operational/pricing issues that may arise with vendors and to follow up promptly for quick resolution.
Ø Decision-making for ad hoc schedule adjustments / optimizations in collaboration with Sales and Operation team.
