The Enrolled Nurse plays a crucial role in providing essential nursing care to residents in the Nursing Home. Working with the Nursing and Care Team, this role focus on delivering compassionate, patient-centred care and ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents in the Nursing Home.
Admission:
- Assist the Nursing Team for assessments for new admissions
Patient Care:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADL)
- Monitor residents' physical and emotional health, and provide appropriate care and support
- Help with mobility such as transferring and repositioning of residents
Medication Administration:
- Administer medications as prescribed
- Ensure administration complies with safe medication practices
- Ensure the safe keeping of the controlled drug
Vital Signs Monitoring:
- Regularly check and record vital signs
- Report and Update on the changes in residents' conditions / needs to Senior Team
Wound Care:
- Check for skin integrity to highlight any potential wound injury
- Perform basic wound care and dressing changes as directed
- Monitor wounds for signs of infection or complications
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, include care plans and daily observations
- Document changes in residents' health status and care needs
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with residents, families and the team
- Provide emotional support and address residents' and families' concerns regarding care
Assistance with Activities:
- Support residents in participating in prescribed rehabilitative activities
- Assist with recreation and social activities to enhance residents' quality of life
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to infection control practices, and ensure a clean and safe environment
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure residents' safety
Multi-Disciplinary Care:
- Work closely with the resident’s doctor and multi-disciplinary team to provide care to the residents; updates on changes in the residents’ condition and needs
- Ensure care delivery and nursing interventions as outlined in the care plan
- Evaluate the resident’s response to care interventions and recommends revision of care plans as necessary
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other Departments and team to deliver comprehensive care
- participate in staff meeting
- Participate in trainings
Others:
- Work with Supervisor to conduct quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care
- Deal with emergency that arises and ensure prompt actions to mitigate the situation. Escalate promptly to supervisor, where necessary
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- National ITE Certificate in Nursing or its equivalent
- At least 2 years’ experience as Enrolled Nurse
- Experience in the Nursing Home setting will be an added advantage
PROFESSIONAL LICENCE
- Registered with Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) as an Enrolled Nurse
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) + AED Certificate will be an added advantage
