Bar/Lounge Hostess Supervisor Job Description:
A bar/lounge hostess supervisor is tasked with ensuring that a Bistro runs smoothly. This can involve many different tasks, including hiring and training staff, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with all food health and safety requirements.
The role of the bar/lounge supervisor can also be a customer-facing one. Supervisors may need to support the broader staff by waiting tables or seating guests. They will also be in charge of both responding to guest complaints and resolving them.
We are seeking an experienced bar/lounge supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will be asked to perform a variety of managerial functions. This starts with providing our guests with a consistently high-quality experience. To do this, you will need to motivate our staff and demonstrate superior customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the lounge: Manage and supervise all tasks of the Bistro's staff, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction from arrival through departure. Ensuring the lounge runs smoothly and that guest receive high-quality service;
- Oversee the lounge: During operating hours, strive in maintaining the service standards and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Managing staff: Assigning duties, coaching and disciplining employees, and monitoring their attendance and overtime;
- Managing food and drink: Overseeing the ordering of food and consumables, and liaising with the kitchen to select food for events;
- Managing third-party services: Overseeing catering and cleaning services;
- Managing customer feedback: Reviewing customer feedback and implementing plans to address concerns;
- Managing training: Assessing training needs and ensuring staff are trained to deliver customer-focused service;
- Managing health and safety: Ensuring that all health and safety and food safety legislation are adhered to;
- Creating a welcoming environment: Meeting and greeting guests to create a warm and personalized experience;
- Maintaining service standards: Ensuring service standards are maintained;
A lounge hostess supervisor should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to maintain composure under pressure. They should also have a passion for customer service and be willing to learn computerized reservation and table management systems, etc.
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary school education or Diploma from School for Tourism & Hotel Management.
Experiences:
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in customer service/guest relations.
