As part of our new business initiatives, MSIM will be increasing our focus on Private Markets distribution to institutional investors in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong. Commensurate with this objective, we are looking for an experienced professional with the following skills, expertise, and experience.
1. The candidate should have 1 to 3 years experience focused on Private Markets at a large multi-strategy global alternative asset management firm.
2. Experience of Alternative Investment Management business and practices with proficient product knowledge in Alternative Investments and Private Markets Strategies.
3. Experience in working on the distribution of Alternative Funds and Co-investments across Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, and Infrastructure.
4. Within the above segments, the candidate should understand the nuances for fundraising across sub-asset classes including:
a. Private Equity – Buyouts, Growth Capital.
b. Private Credit – Direct Lending, Opportunistic Credit, Real Estate Credit.
c. Real Estate – Core Real Estate, Opportunistic Real Estate.
d. Infrastructure – Core and Opportunistic Infrastructure, Energy, Renewables.
5. Roadshow Management - the candidate should possess extensive experience in managing roadshows for Private Markets distribution. This involves:
a. Internal. Coordination with the Fund Heads, Portfolio Managers, Administrative Personnel, and all other internal stakeholders to plan for the roadshow including meetings, travel arrangements, and logistical processes.
b. External. Monitor the outreach to investors, follow up with investors and their support staff to confirm meetings, venue details, etc. Ensure that the entire roadshow process is efficiently managed. Candidate should be familiar with the key investors across Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.
c. Prepare briefing notes and circulate to Fund Heads and Portfolio Managers prior to the roadshow.
6. Research Capabilities. Leveraging various technological resources including Salesforce, Preqin, ZoomInfo, Bloomberg. Conduct research related to LPs. Update the sales team on relevant market developments including industry fundraisings, new market entrants, personnel changes, etc.
7. Management Reporting – provide a Bi-Weekly update to senior management in Asia including an update on the current pipeline and next steps.
8. Prospecting and New Business Development. Demonstrated ability to prospect small and mid-sized investors. Develop new relationships through networking at conferences and industry events. Build and maintain relationships with junior and support staff at the investment companies.
