Job Description
· Liaise with teaching staff on their logistics for practical/performance tasks.
· Preparation of laboratory practical / performance tasks, (prepare samples / specimens) including set-up and breakdown as per science level representative’s instructions.
· Set up any laboratory equipment needed for the experiment, such as microscopes, test tubes and calibrated glass flasks for every workbook experimental activities.
· Clean up any spills, wash the equipment and glassware, such as conical flasks, measuring cylinders and beakers used by students. Report any breakage in the record book and update HOD Science.
· Testing equipment beforehand so as to ensure a successful learning experience.
· Maintain order and cleanliness of laboratories, stores and preparation areas.
· Maintain stock records and equipment lists.
· Assist in conducting monthly regular stock-take and inform HOD Science of any resources to purchase (if any is running low).
· Ensure adequate supply of equipment and materials is always available.
· Keeping track of materials borrowed by teachers and students.
· Assisting the teachers in supervision of laboratory practical/performance tasks when needed.
· Prepare other experimental set-ups for other programme (Performance Task, E2K, competition preparations etc).
· Prepare teaching and learning resources (eg science experiments, microscopic activities, new syllabus science SPARKLE Kits)
· Assist in the Diversity Garden for any teaching & teaching lessons (Junior Botanist, CCA Science Environment Club etc)
· Assist in any other administrative matters as instructed by HOD or School Leaders.
· Be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word to maintain stock take and equipment list.
· Support science teachers in preparation of SPARKLE Kits for experiments.
· Any other administrative work assigned by HOD or School Leaders
Requirements
· Preferably attained GCE “O” Level qualification. Candidates without an “O” Level certificate, but with the relevant experience and expertise may also apply.
· Preferably possess 2 years of relevant working experience in schools.
· Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Proficient in both spoken and written English.
Working hours
· Mondays to Fridays: 7.30am to 2.30pm inclusive of 1hr lunch break
· Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
