Reports to: Asst Project Manager, SDO@IES
Objective: To provide secretarial support to the Technical Committee(s) and Working Groups under the purview of the Building and Construction Standards Committee in the development, adoption and promotion of Singapore Standards and Technical References.
As a member of the National Standardisation Programme, you will work closely with industry partners from government agencies, institutions of higher learning, professional bodies, and industry associations to identify, develop and promote standards to support the Building and Construction industry.
To organise outreach activities and programmes, and workshops to promote the Singapore Standardisation Programme and the adoption of Singapore Standards and Technical References.

Key Responsibilities are:
1. Secretarial Support:
• Support the Manager to plan, monitor and manage development of railway standards under the National Standardisation Programme (coordinating with government agencies, institutions of higher learning, professional bodies and industry associations for their participation in the national standardisation initiatives)
• Oversee and provide secretariat support for the Working Groups
• Support the identification of standards to be developed, in consultation with stakeholders from the industry
2. Project Management
Prepare, track, manage project deliverables based on requirements and scope
3. Events:
Organise seminars, launches, standards adoption workshops to promote the adoption of Singapore Standards and Technical References.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Preferably with at least two (3) years of relevant work experience, though what is most important is a passion for quality and standards, and the desire to contribute
• Good oral and written communication skills in English
• Must be meticulous with an eye for details.
• Ability to think critically and possess good interpersonal skills to work well with stakeholders
• Independent, able to work with minimal supervision, and under pressure
• Project management experience and good IT skills are advantageous
• Must be comfortable and professional in dealing directly with Technical Committee and Working Group members, having the ability to instill confidence.
