The AWS Cloud Engineer will be responsible for supporting cloud infrastructure, implementing new cloud projects, ensuring security compliance, and maintaining AWS services for the organization. The engineer will work closely with the Business-as-Usual (BAU) team, system engineers, and other IT staff to ensure efficient operations and security of the AWS environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the implementation of new cloud-related projects.
- Assist in reviewing access rights and account controls within the cloud environment.
- Review and resolve vulnerabilities identified through scans and/or GCC alerts.
- Provide consultancy for new projects onboarding AWS cloud services.
- Strengthen the security posture of the existing cloud infrastructure and propose enhancements.
- Raise service requests to the BAU Operations Team for cloud-related tasks in scope.
- Support and maintain AWS S3 Buckets and other AWS storage services such as FSX.
- Support Trend Micro Cloud One Workload and Endpoint Security (AMHIPS) as part of the agency's anti-virus/anti-malware system.
- Support and maintain ABLR Heavy Forwarder (CTS Services) as part of audit logging requirements.
- Support GCC infrastructure using DevOps processes or tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Participate in and support audit and security compliance activities.
- Collaborate with BAU teams, system engineers, cloud engineers, and DBAs to maintain the GCC environment.
- Support and maintain Central Account Management (CAM) servers (CTS Services) for audit requirements.
- Assist with disaster recovery exercises.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an AWS environment.
- AWS Professional certification is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, FSX, IAM, and CloudFormation.
- Experience with security tools and frameworks like Trend Micro Cloud One or similar.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts as part of a rotating schedule.
